The Global Health Primer is a one-day course for healthcare providers with little to no international experience who are interested in obtaining basic principles of global health and international health work. This introductory couse aims to provide practical knowledge about healthcare in international and low-resource settings.
Topics discussed will include infectious disease, health disparities, acute care and trauma, global health ethics, travel medicine, and professionalism. The course material will be presented through a variety of approaches, including lectures, interactive modules, and small group case discussions.
Nurses will earn 5 continuing education credits.
