Dr. Kristopher Karnauskas
Dr. Kristopher Karnauskas serves as Co-Director for the University of Colorado Anschutz Pre-Med Emergency/Wilderness Medicine & Climate course. He additionally serves as a Fellow of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences and he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Dr. Karnauskas received his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland – College Park, both in Atmospheric and Oceanic Studies. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Ocean and Climate Physics at the Lamont – Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. Prior to joining CU Boulder he spent six years on the faculty of the Woods Hole Oceanography Institution and the MIT – WHOI Joint Program in Oceanography. He also serves as Editor of the Journal of Geophysical Research Oceans and on the Scientific Steering Committee of U.S. CLIVAR.
