Ben’s passion for medicine and the outdoors was initially sparked by a month long NOLS backpacking course at age 16. He later moved to Colorado to pursue his love for everything outdoors. Ben is an avid climber, backpacker, cyclist, and accidental ultra-runner. He is always searching for any excuse to spend long days outside for “type 2 fun”.
Ben has been and EMT since 2005 and has worked as a pre-hospital paramedic in a variety of locations since 2009, currently in Summit County, Colorado. He also works as a registered nurse, currently both in Vail, CO at Vail Health, and at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, CO. Ben is a member of the Alpine Rescue Team a busy search and rescue team based in Evergreen, CO and holds the role the medical training officer. Ben’s passion is sharing knowledge and experiences so that others can have a safe environment of the incredible wilderness available to us both in Colorado, and around the world.
