Question: What was your true motivation through undergrad and medical or nursing school?

Dr. Elaine Reno (ER Physician): My mom was diagnosed when I was in medical school and it progressed when I was in medical school. I saw that she received excellent care from the physician and I wanted to be able to deliver that same care to the patients I help.

Taryn Ketels (Registered Nurse in Emergency Department): I wanted to work in medicine and help people. I became really interested in infectious diseases and serving the underserved HIV population.

Benjamin Lantow (Registered Nurse in ED, Paramedic, Search and Rescue): Different ways to take care of people when they needed it while providing myself with an engaging career that changes day to day. There is so much variability in being an ER nurse, every minute is different, and I have found a career where I can help people.

Liz Malik (PGY2 ER Resident): I definitely have an interest in global medicine. I love science and what I learned. I pushed myself in medical school because I was determined to become a doctor.

Kit Lein (Registered Nurse in Emergency Department): I have an interest in public health and how I can further help the community in general.
