Virtual Shadowing

Watch over the shoulder of one of our physicians, nurse practitioners, or PAs as they go bedside in the ED to assess and diagnose a simulated patient. Each video is followed-up by a series of questions posed to the student and then a summary by the physician.  A short quiz on the topic addressed finalizes each class.

The Nano Course videos are free and if so desired, after successfully completing all modules with a 100% score, students can apply for a Certificate of Completion from the University of Colorado School of Medicine for a $50 fee (covering our costs of producing the videos).

Due to the nature of these courses, we cannot issue refunds for certificates purchased.

Canvas Directions – Nano Course 1 & 2 Only

Once you click the “Enroll Here” button, you’ll need to enter your email address to receive information and a link to enroll in the course. Follow the instructions in the email to get started. Remember that this Canvas platform is different than what you may be used to from your own academic institution. You cannot use the same account.

For Nano Course 3 only, you will need to pay to access the course. This is a $25 flat fee for all students.

No. This course is open to all students.

The entire 1st Nano Course can be used as 6-7 hours virtual shadowing. The 2nd one may be used as 7 hours.

You can re-watch the videos and retake the quizzes as necessary.

This course is held through the Canvas Free For Teachers platform, which is different than the Canvas system your school uses. You will need to sign up for an account if you do not have one on this platform.

You will need to finish the modules on Canvas with a 100% grade on each of the quizzes. From there, the link will appear as a new module. Follow that link to pay, and you’ll receive your certificate within 2 weeks.
